1)    GENERAL

(a)  The rules set out hereunder shall supercede all former rules of the Society. Any interpretation required in respect of the rules shall be a matter for the Committee whose decision shall be final in all matters and binding on all parties.

2)    THE COMMITTEE:

(a)  The Committee shall compose of the Captain, President, Secretary, Treasurer, Handicap Secretary and at least one other member. The outgoing Captain and President shall be ex-officio members of the Committee. The Committee shall also be empowered to co-opt additional members onto the Committee at any time.

(b) The Committee shall make such rules, regulations and decisions as are deemed necessary in its absolute discretion to ensure the efficient management and organisation of the Society. 

(c)  The outgoing President and Captain shall nominate the incoming President and Captain respectively in consultation with the Committee. All other positions on the Committee shall be elected by members at the Annual General Meeting.

3)    MEMBERSHIP:

(a)  Members should be patrons of Myo’s and must be at least 18 years of age.

(b) Members who do not hold a CONGU (GUI / ILGU) handicap shall be assigned a provisional Society handicap of not more than 18 for men and 26 for women at the sole discretion of the Handicap Secretary. The provisional handicap shall be reviewed after two cards are returned.

(c)  Visiting players who do not have a CONGU (GUI / ILGU) handicap or a recognised and verified society handicap shall be assigned a handicap of not more than 18 for men and 26 for women at the sole discretion of the Handicap Secretary.

4)    OUTINGS:

(a)  Members should check in with Myo’s starter at the course at least 30 minutes before their tee time.

(b)  Members must check at the course regarding local rules and tees in play on the day.

(c)  Members must ensure that CONGU (GUI / ILGU) handicap adjustments are correct on the card. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

(d) Members must have played and returned cards from at least two outings in the preceding and/or current year to qualify for overall prize in all outings.

(e)  The Committee shall decide the fees for outings. Where a member is also a member of the golf club where an outing is held, the outing fee charged by the Society may be varied in accordance with the fee charged (if any) by the golf club to the Society in respect of the member.  Members to whom this rule applies must inform the Committee at least one week in advance of the relevant outing.

5)    SCORE CARDS:

(a)  Scores and Stableford points must be marked clearly and cards signed by players and markers. All changes to scores must be initialled by the marker.

(b) Playing handicap will be given on the day as held in the Society records. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure that their CONGU (GUI / ILGU) handicap is up-to-date and that the handicap on the card is correct.

(c)  Cards must be returned to the Myo’s score card box at the course only. 
Cards will not be accepted afterwards in Myo’s or elsewhere.

(d) Subject to the rules and regulations of the GUI & ILGU, all relevant scores may be returned to the member’s club.

6)    DEDUCTIONS FOR PRIZE-WINNERS:

        The following deductions shall apply to prize winners’ Stableford scores:

                    (a)   Winner                      2.0 points
                    (b)   Runner-up:              1.5 points
                    (c)   First in class:           1.5 points
                    (d)   Second in class:     1.0 points
                    (e)   Third in class:          0.5 points

  • Points deductions are cumulative for the season (only).
  • Points deductions do NOT apply to the overall winners in the Captain’s and President’s prizes.
  • Points deductions do NOT apply in respect of the Player of the Year League.

7)    CAPTAIN’S AND PRESIDENT’S DAYS:

(a)  Cuts will not apply to the overall winner on the day.

(b) Members must have played and returned cards from at least two outings in the preceding and/or current year to qualify for overall winner or runner up prizes.

8)    PRIZES:

(a)    Overall winner.
(b)    Overall second.
(c)    1st, 2nd and 3rd in each Class.
(d)    Front nine and back nine.
(e)    Longest drive and/or nearest to pin.
 (f)    Visitor’s prize.
(g)    A visitor may win only one prize in any one year.
(h)    The Committee may vary the prize categories for any outing.

9)    PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

(a) The Player of the Year shall achieve the best scores from all the outings less two – without cuts – of the qualifying outings for the year. The scores shall be posted as soon as practicable after each outing.

(b)  If two or more players are tied at the end of the qualifying outings, the winner shall be the player with the highest score or scores.

10)    MATCH PLAY:

(a)  The Matchplay draw shall be based on the results of the first and/or second outing of the year.

(b)  The player’s handicap for the duration of the Matchplay competition shall be the playing handicap of the member in the qualifying outing. Matches to be played off full handicap difference (lowest plays off scratch).

(c)  The top 31 players, plus the reigning matchplay champion, shall qualify. Players must enter to qualify.  An entry fee may apply at the discretion of the Committee.

(d)   Matchplay draws shall take place at the presentations in Myo’s whenever possible.

(e)   Players drawn first shall have choice of venue and should arrange matches.

(f)   Matches to be played within a thirty kilometre radius of Myo’s unless mutually agreed otherwise between the players.

(g)   All matches shall be played before the next outing following the draw.

(h)   Winners shall notify result to the Committee.

11)    TIME SHEET:

(a)   The time sheet will be available in Myo’s.
(b)  Members may not play outside of the appointed tee times without the express prior permission of the Committee.
(c)   Visitors may play at the discretion of the Committee.

12)    DISPUTES, COMPLAINTS & CLARIFICATIONS: 

(a) All disputes, complaints and requests for clarification shall be addressed to the Committee as soon as practicable. Committee decisions in these matters are final and shall be binding on all parties.
