 Rules of Myo’s Scramble *

Team event held in November

  • 14 hole competition – teams of 4 players (or less).
  • Maximum 1 visitor per team (visitors are also allowed in place of members who drop out).
  • All players to tee off on every hole. One of the shots is chosen, then every player takes their next shot from that spot, which must be marked. The ball should be dropped. The best of the second shots is chosen, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed. The first ball holed counts as the team score.
If the position of the chosen ball is not marked a ball played becomes the ball in play.
  • Normal Rules (play as you lie): The chosen ball for every shot is played as it lies and other team members play in any order. Bunkers may be raked between shots. For putts the chosen ball must be played first.
  • Preferred lies (winter rules): Place or drop according to local rule on the day.
    • Bunkers: The chosen ball to be played as it lies and all others must be dropped. Bunkers may be raked between shots. For putts the chosen ball must be played first.
  • Two tee shots from each player to count and must be recorded. The score for each hole must be entered on the scorecard under the player’s name whose tee shot was chosen. Failure to identify players of tee shots on the card will result in disqualification.
  • Scores to be marked in gross strokes for each hole. The handicap allowance is subtracted from the gross total.
  • Handicap allowance is 10% of the team’s combined handicaps – maximum of 7.5 **.
