Sean Sheeran didn’t win first prize at the Seve Balesteros designed Heritage course yesterday, but he had a very profitable day’s golf. At the fourth hole, a 185 yard par 3, Sean scored a hole-in-one! With a carry-over of €90 from the previous outing at Portmarnock Links, he pocketed  the entire 2s Club pot of €199 for one good golf shot. Spare a thought for Ken O’Reilly, who scored the only two on the day, and got zilch for his efforts…

This was Sean’s second time to score a hole-in-one with Myo’s. His other ace was at Elmgreen a few years ago at our annual turkey shoot.

Fifty eight players teed off yesterday, despite what turned out to be less than perfect weather. The early starters got the best of it with a few heavy showers dampening down the later scores, helped by the cold and the wind.

Kieran O’Brien took top honours on the day with 36 points. Eight handicapper Kieran told us it was his first win with Myo’s (he obviously doesn’t count the prize he got for nearest the pin at Portmarnock Links).

There was a good crowd back at Myo’s for the presentations and loads of pick-outs completed another great Myo’s golf day.  The Members Draw was held and we gave away ten magnificent fourballs – two of them won by Paul O’Gorman!

The Matchplay competition was reduced this year to sixteen starters because not enough members entered so and there will now be just winner and runner-up prizes. (See the draw here)

Next up is the magnificent Killeen Castle on 13th June. See you there.
