A fine day always helps and despite a bit of a chill in the breeze, the weather was kind to us for the annual Turkey Scramble at Elmgreen. Fifty-six players teed off in the sunshine and the results were very close, with count backs deciding most of the prizes. Well done to all concerned and especially to those who headed back to the pub for a fine mixed grill and the presentation of prizes. There was a big turnout in Myo’s for the prize-giving and Pat Dillon, Jimmy Doherty, Fionán McDonagh and Fran Rooney took top honours scoring a nett 43 for the 14 hole scramble, narrowly beating the Smith clan on count back. Lots of pick-out prizes eased the blow for those who didn’t make it into the winners enclosure. |
