Our President Tames Carlow Course |

By Myo’s standards, it was a poor turnout for what everyone agreed is a magnificent golf course. Maybe a dodgy forecast put some people off or maybe it was just one of those days, but whatever the reasons, those who stayed at home missed a treat and Carlow is now firmly planted high on our list of best golf courses. The weather was not as bad as predicted and a couple of heavy showers failed to dampen the spirits of our President, Brian Smith, who charged ahead to lead the field home by two shots, even after scratching the 18th! The twos Club was well salted with a carryover from The Island and the three birdie men took home €53 each. Despite smaller numbers than usual making the short trip to the Breffni county, there was a good crowd back in Myo’s for the presentation of prizes by our sponsor, Brendan Quinn (Quinn Solicitors). Thanks to Noel who, despite his hip job, was at the course as usual making sure members found their way to the first tee. |
